Creating engaging visual identity for a major scale concert

Overview
What is Winter Soulstice?

Winter Soulstice is UCR's annual R&B and soul concert typically held in the beginning months of winter quarter. The artists who performed at Winter Soulstice 2023 consisted of Noah Guy, Jenevieve, RealestK, and Odie.

My Role + The Process

As the lead marketer for this event, I held the responsibility of curating the event's visual identity and overseeing all key marketing tasks. Given the expansive nature of this concert, the demand for an more graphics and designs were needed. The Pinterest board that was given for this event inspiration was heavily futuristic, cyber-punk, glitch, and neon-color inspired.

My designs and posts can be seen below:

The lineup video I created for this concert, can be found here!

Other designs that I worked on, but not displayed: Staff and artist credentials, credential sheets, internal map, greenroom signs, stage screens, stage banners, thank you cards, concert photography.

My Takeaways

This was my first time marketing a large scale event! It was definitely challenging creating everything with the amount of time that we had while also pursuing my studies. However, I believe my work paid off in the end. This event put my design capabilities to the test as I really wanted to make this event's aesthetics stand out from all the other ones we had before. I put a lot of time into learning procreate to draw the assets and the logo and learning how to video edit for the lineup video. Students also lined up hours before the event to get the promotional items that I created- which ran out of stock within the first hour of the event.

I am grateful for the constant support from my peers and board members as I created the marketing for this event. My hard work felt like it truly paid off. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any further questions about the marketing for this event!
